American Sign Language Staff Interpreter

Responsibilities:

Provide interpretation services appropriate for the language and the cultural background of Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind, or hearing residents and staff through the use of American Sign Language (ASL), English, and/or tactile ASL.

Coordinates the work of staff within interpreting role to ensure compliance with company standards and policies.
-
Coordinates with outside agencies to secure additional interpreters as needed.

Works effectively in teams with other sign language interpreters.
-
Adheres to the standards of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) Code of Professional Conduct.

May provide front desk or other similar support as needed.

Maintains good attendance, is prompt and comes to work on assigned days.

Reports all unsafe or hazardous conditions or equipment immediately
